Jeanneau Merry Fisher 895
The Merry Fisher 895 is Jeanneau’s twin-cabin outboard weekender, launched in August 2016 as the new top model of the Merry Fisher range: a wheelhouse boat of about 8.9 m with an owner’s cabin forward, a side cabin for two, a separate head with shower and a saloon that converts to a double berth. The name covers four boats: the first generation of model years 2017–2023 (also as 895 Offshore with larger tanks and bigger twin engines, and as 895 Legende with a navy-blue hull), the fishing-oriented 895 Marlin of 2019, renamed 895 Sport for 2022, the 895 Serie 2 on a new hull from model year 2024 and the 895 Sport Serie 2 from 2025. In North America they are sold as NC 895, NC 895 Sport and NC 895 Series 2, and from autumn 2017 the NC 895 was also built at the group’s plant in Cadillac, Michigan. Jeanneau priced the first generation as a hull without engine and names engine makes only for the Serie 2 boats (Yamaha or Mercury, always as a pair), so engines, electronics and option packs differ from boat to boat; it publishes no speed or range figures for any version.

Good to know
- Jeanneau offers no owner’s manuals for download, but its help centre says a digital copy exists for almost every Jeanneau boat; ask for yours with the help button on help.jeanneau.com.22
- Much of the equipment came in packs, so two boats of the same year can differ a lot: the PREMIERE trim level brought the electric windlass, the Lenco trim tabs, the 12 V fridge and LED lighting; the Comfort Pack the bow thruster, shore power with charger, the water heater (on most versions) and the windlass control at the helm; the Electronic Pack the plotter. Find out which packs a used boat was ordered with before buying parts.5,6,1,2
- Before repowering, check the limits for your version: Jeanneau specifies a 30″ (762 mm) shaft for a single engine and 25″ (635 mm) shafts for twins. A single engine may have up to 350 hp (first generation, Marlin / Sport); twins up to 2 × 175 hp on the 895, Marlin and Sport, 2 × 200 hp on the 895 Offshore and 2 × 250 hp on the Marlin / Sport Offshore and both Serie 2 boats, which take twins only. Check the builder’s plate on board as well.5,6,7,1,2
- The aft cockpit bench, standard in every Jeanneau list, slides forward; on its 895 Marlin page Jeanneau explains that this lets the outboards be tilted fully up. Slide it forward before tilting the engines for trailering or antifouling.23,5,6,1,2
- Each of the two fuel tanks has its own deck filler. A Serie 2 boat with the optional 4.8 kW generator also has a separate diesel tank with its own filler, so there can be three fillers on deck: label them before the first refuel.1,2
- The factory electronics changed over the years, which matters when you replace a display or a transducer: the 2017 list has Lowrance (Elite 7 Ti or HDS Touch 9 G3 with a P79 transducer), the 2020 and 2021 lists Garmin (ECHOMAP 92sv or GPSMAP 8412xsv with a GT15M-IH or GT15-IH transducer), the Serie 2 lists Garmin ECHOMAP 92sv UHD2 or GPSMAP 1223xsv with a GT15M-IH. All of them were optional packs, so check what is actually fitted in the dash and in the hull.3,4,5,6,1,2
