Jeanneau Cap Camarat 7.5 WA
The Cap Camarat 7.5 WA is Jeanneau’s walk-around outboard day boat of about 7.4 m: a central helm console with a small cabin underneath (two single berths that convert to a double, and a separate head compartment), walk-around side decks, a sundeck forward and a cockpit aft. Three generations carry the name: the first generation of model years 2011 to about 2015 (Sarrazin Design hull, one outboard of up to 300 hp or two of up to 150 hp), the Serie 2 on a new Michael Peters V hull (model years 2016–2021, one outboard of up to 300 hp) and the Série 3 on a further new Michael Peters hull, announced in July 2021 for model year 2022, still in the 2027 range and sold in North America as the Leader 7.5 WA. Jeanneau sells the boat without engine, so engine, rigging and electronics differ from boat to boat; the 2027 spec sheet offers Yamaha, Mercury and Suzuki pre-rigs from 225 to 300 hp. Jeanneau publishes no owner’s manual for it online (its help centre sends a digital copy on request), and the sister models 7.5 CC and 7.5 DC are not covered here.

Good to know
- Tell the generations apart by their figures: the first generation is 7.42 m overall (7.35 m in the 2011 list) with a 2.55 m beam and a 285-litre tank and was offered with one or two outboards; the Serie 2 sits on a 6.96 m hull with a 2.52 m beam and a 280-litre tank; the Série 3 has a 6.98 m hull, a 2.55 m beam and a 330-litre tank, and in North America it is the Leader 7.5 WA.6,8,4,1,17
- When repowering, match the shaft: the Série 3 needs a 30-inch (762 mm) outboard, the Serie 2 and a single-engine first generation a 25-inch (635 mm) one, and twin rigs on the first generation used 20-inch (508 mm) engines. Every version is rated for at most 300 hp.8,4,1
- On the Série 3 the pre-rig decides the helm hardware: the Yamaha DBW, Mercury and Suzuki ‘electric control’ pre-rigs use electronic throttles, while the Yamaha SBW and Suzuki electric-steering pre-rigs replace the standard hydraulic steering. Find out which pre-rig a used boat has before you buy controls, gauges or an engine of another make.1
- Before you replace electronics, note the factory pack of that model year: Lowrance with a P79 transducer in the 2016 list (Elite-7 CHIRP or HDS-7 Touch Gen3) and the 2017 list (Elite 7 Ti or HDS Touch 9 G3), Garmin ECHOMAP Plus 72cv or ECHOMAP 92sv with a GT15M-IH in the 2019 list, ECHOMAP 92sv UHD or GPSMAP 1223xsv with a GT15-IH in 2023, and ECHOMAP 92sv UHD2 or GPSMAP 1223xsv with a GT15M-IH in 2027. Check that a new unit works with the transducer already fitted before you buy.3,4,5,9,1
- On every version most comfort items were options: fridge, marine toilet with holding tank, electric windlass, trim tabs, bow thruster (offered from the 2019 list), T-top and electronics. Check what a boat really has rather than going by brochure photos; on a Série 3, note that the 2027 sheet offers only a chemical toilet, while the 2023 list still had the marine toilet with holding tank.8,4,5,9,1
- Jeanneau does not publish the owner’s manual online, but its help centre says a digital copy exists for almost every Jeanneau boat. Ask for it through the help button there and have the boat’s hull identification number (HIN) at hand.18
