Dufour 390
The Dufour 390 is an 11.94 m cruising yacht drawn by Felci Yacht Design (Umberto Felci) and built by Dufour Yachts in La Rochelle, France, a company of the Fountaine Pajot group. It appeared on Dufour’s site in April 2018 as the Grand Large 390 and has been called simply Dufour 390 since the 2019 model year; it is the same hull throughout, with 2 or 3 cabins, 1 to 3 heads, twin wheels, a 30 hp diesel on a saildrive (40 hp as an option) and a 1.95 m or 1.75 m keel. The model page was still online in February 2024, and the boat is no longer in Dufour’s 2026 range. Dufour does not publish the owner’s manual: it came in the owner’s pack delivered with the boat, and documentation and spare parts are requested through Dufour’s owner-request form with the HIN and hull number.
Manuals & documents
Dufour publishes no owner’s manual for the 390: it came with the boat, and owners ask for documentation and spare parts through the builder’s owner-request form. The other links go to Dufour’s own documents: the 2018 technical specifications and the model pages of 2018 to 2022 as archived copies, and the builder’s current used-boat guide. We host nothing.

Equipment & its manuals
Standard equipment as the builder’s documents list it. Boats were ordered with options and refitted since — check what is actually aboard.
| Item | Model | Manual / page | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Engine | Diesel 30 hp1,2,3,4,5All boats: 30 hp (22 kW) diesel as standard, 40 hp as an option, on a saildrive; the builder names no make or model | — | 2018 list: heat-exchanger cooling with anti-siphon valve, fuel filter with water separator, emergency fuel shut-off, panel with hour meter and rev counter, alternator with charge splitter, engine-room extractor fan, separate engine bilge. Dufour’s used-boat guide also mentions a rarer version with the Smart Electric Pack, without technical details. |
| Saildrive | Saildrive1All boats; the 2018 technical specifications say only ‘sail-drive’, make and model not named | — | Read the plate on the leg before ordering seals, anodes, gear oil or a propeller. |
| Propeller | —1Fixed two-blade propeller in the 2018 technical specifications; make not named | — | |
| Steering | —1,2All boats: twin wheels on polyester consoles, single rudder | — | Engine controls and panel at the starboard wheel, compass at the port wheel. The emergency tiller fits the rudder-stock head under the helmsman’s floor; the steering gear is reached through a hinged Moabi panel in the aft cabin. |
| Winches | —12018 technical specifications: 2 halyard winches; sheet winches and winch sizes not itemised, makes not named | — | Also listed: 2 deck organisers with 5 sheaves on each side, 2 rows of jammers at the companionway, a jammer for the furling line at the aft end of the side deck and 2 winch handles. |
| Windlass | —12018 technical specifications: a windlass mount only, no windlass in the standard list | — | Self-draining anchor locker moulded into the deck, with the windlass mount and a chain eyebolt, a lockable lid and a fixed bow roller. The builder names no windlass make, so check what was fitted later before ordering a gypsy or motor parts. |
| Furler | —1All boats: roller-furling genoa with UV strip; make not named | — | |
| Mast & rigging | —1All boats: 9/10 fractional rig, deck-stepped anodised aluminium mast with two sets of swept spreaders, aluminium boom; make not named | — | Single-strand stainless-steel standing rigging with chromed bronze bottlescrews and a twin backstay; two continuous reefing lines in the boom, topping lift led to the coachroof, rig earthed. |
| Toilet | —1,62018 technical specifications: manual marine toilet (aft head); make not named | — | Head with hot and cold water, mixer tap and shower head; it drains straight overboard through an electric pump. The list gives no holding-tank details, and boats have 1 to 3 heads depending on the layout. |
| Fridge | —12018 technical specifications: 12 V electric refrigerator; make and volume not named | — | |
| Stove | —1,32018 technical specifications: gimballed two-burner gas cooker with oven; make not named | — | Removable folding Corian cover; gas bottle in the port aft cockpit locker. The model pages from 2019 also show an outdoor galley in the cockpit with a griddle and sink, without saying whether it is standard. |
| Water heater | —1,2All boats: 40 l water heater, heated by the engine through the heat exchanger | — | Dufour’s 2018 page says the water heater was enlarged from 20 l to 40 l for this model, so a 20 l unit is not a like-for-like replacement. |
| Water pump | —12018 technical specifications: pressurised fresh-water pump unit; make not named | — | Hot and cold pressurised water in the galley and the head, and a hot and cold shower in the cockpit. |
| Bilge pump | —12018 technical specifications: one electric pump with strainer, switched at the panel, and one manual pump worked from the cockpit; makes not named | — | The shower sumps are pumped straight overboard. |
| Instruments | —1Option in the 2018 technical specifications: instrument positions at both helms; makes not named | — | The instrument transducers are reached from the forward cabin. The builder names no instrument, autopilot or plotter make, so read the units actually fitted before ordering. |
| Batteries | —12018 technical specifications: 12 V battery banks; number and capacity not stated | — | One isolator per bank at the companionway, engine alternator with charge splitter, panel with 12 switches, a display and 2 USB sockets, watertight shore-power socket in the cockpit. Good to know
- Dufour names no make for the engine, saildrive, winches, windlass, toilet or electronics on any of its 390 pages or in the 2018 specifications; broker listings that do are not the builder’s word. Read the plates on what is actually fitted before ordering filters, impellers, saildrive seals or windlass parts, and ask for the engine hours and service history, which Dufour’s used-boat guide puts first among the checks.1,5
- Check which keel the boat has before you plan anchorages, a haul-out or a cradle: 1.95 m with the standard keel or 1.75 m with the shoal keel. Dufour’s used-boat guide lists this among the checks, and the 2018 specifications give the keel as bolted on through stainless-steel backing plates.5,1
- The engine is reached from the front, under a hinged wooden cover on a gas strut at the companionway, and from the sides depending on the layout. The engine bay has a double bulkhead towards the aft cabin against noise and heat.1
- Know where the emergency tiller goes before you need it: it fits the rudder-stock head under the helmsman’s floor, and the steering gear is reached through a hinged Moabi panel in the aft cabin.1
- Tank locations for surveys and refits: diesel (200 l) under the starboard aft berth, fresh water (380 l in two tanks) under the port aft berth and under the forward berth; the instrument transducers are reached from the forward cabin.1
- There is no public owner’s manual: the 2018 specifications say it came in the owner’s pack delivered with the boat. If it is missing, or for spare parts, use Dufour’s owner-request form, choose Dufour 390 and give the HIN and hull number; Dufour passes the request to an expert for your sailing area.10,1
