Dufour 412 Grand Large
The Dufour 412 Grand Large is a 12.70 m cruising yacht drawn by Umberto Felci (Felci Yacht Design) and built by Dufour Yachts in La Rochelle, France. It appeared on Dufour’s site in November 2015, for the 2016 model year, as an evolution of the Dufour 410 Grand Large, with a closed cockpit hiding an outdoor galley with barbecue and a fixed bowsprit for downwind sails; from 2019 it was called simply Dufour 412, and the model page was still online in October 2022. Every Dufour document describes the same boat: a 40 hp diesel on a saildrive, a 2.10 m keel, a 9/10 fractional rig with a furling genoa, and 2 or 3 cabins with 1 or 2 heads; Dufour never names the engine make. There is no public owner’s manual: it came in the owner’s pack with the boat, and documentation and spare parts are requested through Dufour’s owner-request form with the HIN and hull number.

Manuals & documents
Dufour publishes no owner’s manual for the 412: it came in the owner’s pack delivered with the boat, and owners ask for documentation and spare parts through the builder’s owner-request form. The other links go to Dufour’s own documents as archived copies (the technical specifications, the model pages of 2015 to 2022, the press-review page and a news item) and to a magazine report. We host nothing.

Good to know
- Dufour names no make for the engine, saildrive, winches, windlass, toilets or electronics, neither in the technical specifications nor on any of its 412 pages from 2015 to 2022; broker listings that do are not the builder’s word. Read the plates on what is actually fitted before ordering filters, impellers, saildrive seals or windlass parts.1,4,5,6
- Dufour gives two overall lengths: 12.70 m on every model page from 2015 to 2022 and 12.35 m in the technical-specifications PDF, with the same 11.98 m hull length in both. Check which figure a marina, insurer or transport quote uses, and measure the boat if in doubt.2,5,6,1
- Don’t mix up the 412 with the Dufour 410 Grand Large it was developed from: Dufour calls the 412 an evolution of the 410 with a closed cockpit hiding an outdoor galley and a fixed bowsprit, the Vela e Motore quote on Dufour’s page says the fixed bowsprit replaced the 410’s retractable one, and YACHT calls the other changes marginal. Say which boat you have when ordering canvas, cushions or stern and bow fittings.7,4,8
- Know the emergency steering before you need it: the emergency tiller fits the head of the rudder stock under the helmsman’s floor. The engine is reached from the front under the hinged companionway cover and from both sides; a double bulkhead separates the engine bay from the aft cabins.1
- Where things are for surveys and refits: diesel (200 l) under the starboard aft berth, fresh water (380 l in two tanks) under the port aft berth and the forward berth, the battery isolators in the aft port cabin and the instrument transducers in the forward cabin; the bilge sump with its strainer is built into the keel.1
- There is no public owner’s manual: the technical specifications list an owner’s pack with the owner’s manual delivered with the boat. If it is missing, or for spare parts, use Dufour’s owner-request form, choose Dufour 412 and give the HIN and hull number; Dufour passes the request to an expert for your sailing area.11,1
