NEEL 47
The NEEL 47 is a 14.20 m cruising trimaran drawn by Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group and built by NEEL-TRIMARANS in La Rochelle; the first boat was launched in March 2019. Galley, saloon, cockpit (NEEL’s ‘Cockloon’) and the owner’s cabin share one level on the main deck, the guest suites are in the floats, and the engine, tanks and systems sit in the central hull. It was sold with 3 or 4 double cabins, from 2021 also as a Pure Edition of 10 boats with solar panels, watermaker and hydrogenerator, and after about 60 boats production closed with a Final Edition of 5 boats delivered in 2025. The NEEL 45 (2010–2019, Joubert-Nivelt-Mercier) preceded it in NEEL’s range.

Good to know
- NEEL sold the 47 as a base boat plus an ‘Essential’ or ‘Premium’ pack and a long list of options: sails, windlass, central-hull WC, 230 V network, combi charger and folding propeller are in both packs; bow thruster, electric halyard winch, Kobra anchor kit, Fusion audio and dinghy lift only in Premium. Equipment therefore differs from boat to boat, so ask the seller for the original order form or inventory before you order parts.1
- NEEL’s own air-draft figures differ: 19.0 m in the 2018–2022 brochures, 20.5 m on the website since 2024. If bridges or canals matter, measure the boat and check whether it has the optional carbon ‘Performance’ rig.7,2,1
- Engine, tanks and most systems sit in the central hull, in about 18 m² of garage and technical space away from the cabins. At a survey, look there first for leaks, the state of the wiring and the service history of engine and saildrive.2
- NEEL also built the 47 in a 60 Hz version with a 110 V network, a 50 A shore inlet and a 110 V water heater. Check the boat’s voltage before you buy chargers, heating elements or appliances.1
- To tell the versions apart: Pure Edition boats (from 2021) have a blue helm bimini, lazy bag and UV strips, and came with a Watt & Sea hydrogenerator, a watermaker and three solar panels; Final Edition boats (2025) have a black mast, boom, cleats, stanchions and helm and black interior trim.6,5
- NEEL publishes no owner’s manual for the 47, and the ‘Private area’ on its website needs a login, so ask the yard in La Rochelle for your boat’s documents. After a ruling of the La Rochelle commercial court, a new management team has run the yard since April 2026: confirm after-sales contacts with the yard directly.12
