Pogo 12.50
The Pogo 12.50 is a 12.50 m fast cruising yacht built by Pogo Structures in Combrit–Sainte-Marine, Brittany, from 2010; its Finot-Conq hull is the one of the Pogo 40S² Class40, the interior is by Roséo Design, and the yard announced the delivery of the 82nd and last boat in 2022. It came with a hydraulic lifting keel (3.00 m down, 1.20 m up) or a fixed keel (2.20 m), a backstay-free carbon mast with swept-back spreaders, twin rudders and a tiller, and two cabins as standard, with seven layouts up to three cabins and two heads. Every price list from 2010 to 2021 gives a 30 hp Volvo saildrive with a folding propeller but names neither the engine type nor the leg, so read the plates before ordering parts. Sails and electronics were options, and the standard equipment changed in the 2019 list (85 l fridge with a front door, aluminium tiller); the yard launched the larger Pogo 44 in 2020 and now lists the 12.50 among its previous models.

Good to know
- Pogo’s lists only ever say ‘30 hp Volvo saildrive’, so read the engine plate and the plate on the saildrive leg before buying filters, impellers, a diaphragm or anodes. A 115 A alternator appears from the 2012 lists; Volvo Penta’s D1-30 with a 130S leg matches that description, but the plate decides.1,3,7,8
- Check which keel a boat has: the hydraulic lifting keel (3.00/1.20 m) is lifted by an electric motor with a manual back-up, and according to the yard it releases from its down position on a grounding to absorb the impact. After a grounding, have the keel, its pivot and the hydraulic system inspected. Fixed-keel boats draw 2.20 m, and the early lists also offered 3 m.11,1,4,7,18
- Sails and electronics were not in the base price: the 2010–2012 option lists offer Incidences Hydranet sails on quote and either an NKE Gyropilot or a B&G Hydra 3000 pilot pack, each with its own instruments, plus Lorenz plotters and Navicom VHFs. Two used 12.50s can therefore carry quite different gear, so ask for the inventory before ordering spares or cables.1,2,3,4
- Measure the sails before ordering new ones: the yard’s pages and brochures gave 27 m² for the staysail, 155 m² for the asymmetric spinnaker and 85 m² for the gennaker up to 2018, but 20 m², 141.5 m² and 95 m² from 2019, and the French 2012 brochure says 25 m² for the staysail. The mainsail (63 m²) and solent (44 m²) figures never changed.21,24,20,25,26,18
- Note the build year when ordering galley or steering parts: up to the 2015 list the boat had a 70–80 l icebox (cooling unit optional) and a laminated iroko tiller, while the 2019 and 2021 lists give an 85 l fridge with a front door in a central unit, a black aluminium tiller, a composite sandwich floor and a foul-water tank in the standard head.1,3,5,10,6,7
- Pogo Structures puts no owner’s manual for the 12.50 online, only the brochure on the model page; the old price lists and documentation survive as archived copies (see Documents). For documents or parts for your hull, contact the yard in Combrit, which built all 82 boats, and have the hull number ready; engine documents come from Volvo Penta.18,28,17
