Beneteau Oceanis 45
The Oceanis 45 is a 13.94 m cruising yacht designed by Finot-Conq, with an interior by Nauta Design, and built by Beneteau from 2011 to 2018. It belongs to the Oceanis generation with a fixed arch over the cockpit for the mainsheet: twin wheels, a gently sloping 45° companionway, a transom that opens electrically into a swim platform and a sliding chart table. Layouts run from two cabins with two heads to four cabins, with a deep or a shallow keel; the early boats have a 54 hp Yanmar with saildrive, later ones a 57 hp common-rail Yanmar, with 80 hp as an option from 2018. The older Oceanis 440 and 461 and the Oceanis 46.1 of 2018 are different designs.

Good to know
- The engine is reached from three sides: the whole companionway lifts on two gas struts, and there is a panel in each aft cabin. On a survey, read the engine plate rather than the listing: Beneteau’s early documents give 54 hp, the June 2016 equipment list a 57 hp common-rail engine, and the 2018 lists add an 80 hp option.6,1,5
- Two keels were offered: deep, 2.27 m with 2808 kg of ballast (standard), and shallow, 1.75 m with 3036 kg (option). The shallow keel is the heavier one; check which one the boat has before you compare prices or plan a berth.6,2
- The standard 25 A charger and three batteries of 110–115 Ah are modest for a 45-footer; the Essential and Exclusive trims bring a 60 A charger and two more service batteries. Check the battery bank and the charger before adding an inverter or a watermaker.5,6
- The Harken 50.2 and 40.2 winches are serviced as described in Harken’s 50.2 ST installation and maintenance manual, which includes the exploded view. An electric 46.2 winch on the port side marks a boat with the Exclusive trim.10,5,6
- Beneteau does not publish the owner’s manual online. Ask a Beneteau dealer first; otherwise Beneteau’s helpdesk explains how to request a PDF copy by e-mail.11
- Fresh water: Beneteau quotes 370 l, but the plumbing section lists a 330 l tank in the forward cabin, plus an optional 200 l tank. The holding tanks are small (80 l and 64 l), so check their vents and hoses on a survey.6,5
