Nimbus T8

The Nimbus T8, listed as Tender 8 on the builder’s site, is an outboard day boat with a walk-around deck and a fore cabin with double berth and separate head, built by Nimbus Boats in Gothenburg and launched at boot Düsseldorf in January 2020 as the smaller boat of the Tender series below the T9. Nimbus calls it the successor to its R-series and Nova boats (230R, 250R, 26 Nova); it sits on a newly developed air-lubricated twin-stepped hull, takes a single Mercury Verado outboard of 200, 250 or 300 hp, is rated CE category C for 8 people and is still in the range in 2026. There is one version only, but the published figures changed: 8.15 × 2.60 m in the 2020 material, 7.93 × 2.55 m on the model page from 2021, and 355 l of fuel instead of 240 l from late 2025. Nimbus publishes no owner’s manual, price list or per-year equipment list online; the boat’s documents are in the Nimbus Connect app, and the only equipment lists are those in the 2020 launch release and brochure.

Good to know

  • The builder’s 2020 launch release and brochure give 8.15 × 2.60 m; its model page has said 7.93 × 2.55 m for the same boat since January 2021, without a reason. For a berth, a lift or a trailer, measure the boat or go by its CE papers rather than either web figure.5,11
  • If a listing quotes 355 l of fuel and 45 l of water, it comes from the model page of late 2025; earlier pages and the brochure say 240 l and 50 l. Nimbus gives no model year for the change, so check the tank label or the dealer’s build sheet before you plan range or buy a fuel sender.13,7
  • For a trailer, start from the builder’s 2300 kg, which is without engine, and add the outboard, fuel and your gear. The brochure’s 2510 kg is labelled ‘Weight MLCC’, and Nimbus does not explain it.4,3
  • Broker listings and web summaries sometimes credit the T8 with a Sleipner SE 30 bow thruster, a 9 in Simrad NSX plotter or a Mercury FourStroke V6 200. The thruster and the NSX come from the builder’s list for the C8 (Commuter 8), a closed boat with its own spec page; the T8’s own documents name only Zipwake, a Simrad GO7 and Verado engines, so go by the plates on the boat.1,4
  • The only standard-equipment list for the T8 is in the January 2020 launch release: it has Zipwake trim control and a bow thruster as standard, while the 2020 brochure marks the fridge, heater, gas burner, anchor winches, shore power and T-top as options. On a used boat, check each of these aboard rather than trusting a list.1,3
  • Nimbus publishes no owner’s manual online: the builder puts the boat’s manuals and documents in its Nimbus Connect app, standard on new boats from model year 2025 and available as a retrofit for older ones. For an older T8 without the app, ask a Nimbus dealer; spare parts are sold in the builder’s shop, which the T8 page links as ‘Store & Spareparts’.9,15
