Jabsco electric toilets

Jabsco (Xylem) builds several families of electric marine toilets, each in 12 V and 24 V. The 37010 Electric toilet and the quieter Quiet Flush (37045 rinsing from the fresh-water system through a solenoid valve, 37245 with its own sea-water pump) share base and macerator and use the same china bowls as the manual Twist ’n’ Lock; both take joker valve 44106-1000, but the 37010 is serviced with kit 37040-0000 and the Quiet Flush with 90197-0000. Their successor, the Quiet Flush E2 (38045/38245), keeps joker 44106-1000 and has its own kit 38595-1000. The Deluxe Flush (580x0 fresh water, 582x0 raw water, 14 or 17 in high) and the compact Lite Flush 58500 use a 240 W centrifugal macerator and the manual-toilet joker 29092-1000; Deluxe toilets built before 2010 take kit 58100-1000, later ones 58100-2000, while the Lite Flush has no service kit because its pump is replaced as a unit. A manual 29090/29120 becomes electric with the 29200 conversion kit (service kit 29101-0000), which keeps the original discharge elbow and its joker 29092-1000.

From the Jabsco (Xylem) manuals for each series: 37010, Quiet Flush 37045 and 37245, Quiet Flush E2, Deluxe Flush, Lite Flush and the 29200 conversion. Jabsco gives no hour-based intervals; everything happens at the yearly service or on condition. Antifreeze is where the manuals differ: for the Deluxe Flush and the Lite Flush Jabsco advises against it (on the Deluxe glycol-based only, if at all); the Quiet Flush E2 and the 29200 are either drained or filled with propylene-glycol antifreeze only.

Good to know

  • Read the model number on the label before you order: 37010 = one push button, rinse pump on the motor; 37045 = Quiet Flush on the fresh-water system (solenoid valve); 37245 = Quiet Flush with a separate sea-water pump; 580x0 / 582x0 = Deluxe Flush fresh / raw water; 58500 = Lite Flush. The 37010 and the Quiet Flush share joker valve 44106-1000 and the shaft seal, but not the service kit (37040-0000 vs 90197-0000).2
  • On a Deluxe Flush the build year decides the service kit: before 2010 it is 58100-1000, from 2010 58100-2000, because the hoses differ. The current pump assembly (58103-1012/-1024) and control kit 58029-1000 fit both generations.2
  • Water dripping from the motor shaft or under the seal housing means the shaft seal is going: change it early, before salt water reaches the motor bearings. On the Deluxe Flush, touch the new ceramic seal only with clean, dry fingers or gloves; the impeller nut has a left-hand thread and should be renewed.5,11
  • Strong-smelling cleaners such as pine concentrates or degreasers make the Quiet Flush shaft seal swell and leak, and bleach or acetone crack the plastic parts on all models. Use a mild liquid cleaner and diluted disinfectant.5
  • Lite Flush: always put water in the bowl first (fill button or foot switch), otherwise paper compacts and blocks the pump. The pump is replaced as a unit, but a broken drive belt can be changed on its own (58542-1000, or 58541-1000 with pulleys).15
  • Electric toilets need full voltage: give them their own fused circuit with cable sized for the length of run as the manual shows. Thin wiring means weak flushing, slow priming and blown fuses.13
